Letter P: Pizza Field Trip
Fabulous Field Trip & Busy Day at School!
PIZZA MAN IS THE BEST!
Today half of our classes went on an exciting Field Trip to
the PIZZA MAN! This restaurant went
above and beyond our expectations for a fun and educational experience! The children got to help make the dough,
bread sticks and took home their own individual size pizza. THANKS PIZZA MAN!
Back at School...
the other half was busy learning the letter P. We learned that P the Pelican Pops Popcorn (The Amazing Action Alphabet). And enjoyed Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons! We even played a game of “ My Buttons, My Buttons, Who Has my Groovy Button”.
Watch a little of Pete here!
We also P-ainted with P-udding in our Monster ABC Book!
And we worked hard on our cutting skills and name recognition to
decorate our classroom!
Next Monday we get to switch and have the rest of the class
go to the Pizza Man! Yay! This will be a great bridge to our Dramatic
Play Baking Centers this month!

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!"
I'm joining the Blog Hop! Where teachers can share their plans for Christmas. Here is a sneak peak of some of the fabulous things we will be doing this December....
NAME RECOGNITION(first and last)
We will be using this fabulous game... Students will practice their FINE MOTOR SKILLS by cutting out the letters in his/her name and then hanging them on yarn in the correct order. We will be hanging these from the ceiling to help decorate our room for Christmas! You can print these off at home FOR FREE by going to either my Teachers Pay Teachers Store or to Teachers Notebook! These are a great way to help them learn to write their name. Children can not be expected to independently write their names until they can recognize it! :) Remember...Always let the children see and write their name with a Capital letter followed by ALL lowercase letters. (i.e. John not JOHN!) This also helps with letter recognition!LETTER RECOGNITION:
We will also be playing fun hide and seek games with these colorful bulbs. Searching for certain letters.
FINE MOTOR SKILLS
We will be cutting and writing all month to help develop our strength. These skills are essential to success in kindergarten and beyond. Our Santa Countdown will help reinforce these skills at home!
The letters we will be focusing on this month are P F J.
We will kick off the month with a Polar Express Pajama Party! YAY! So fun and snuggly! We will SNEAK in learning by using some of the games in this darling Polar Express Kit I purchased on Teachers Notebook by LittleAdventuresPreschool.
We will also be bringing home beginning readers that the children will be "writing" by filling in the blank. this will be part of our Write the Room with the Gingerbread man! This unit has an adorable beginning reader with the site/dolch words Can, A, See, I. You can find it HERE or HERE.
Next we are going to decorate our classroom and homes with this adorable Gingerbread Glyph (similar to the monster glyph we did at back to school night). This will be up on my stores soon! So check back!
We will also be mastering the following skills by using by Christmas Math and Literacy Bundle. (TPT & TN) Each game below can be purchased separately or at a discount in a bundle.
We will also be Rockin' and Celebrating with Pete the Cat! Our favorite class book is Pete the Cat and his New Shoes. Well, this week the kids eyes will be filled with wonder when we read...drum roll please...
YAY PETE! WAY TO SAVE CHRISTMAS! (Goes great with our letter P too!) :)
YAY PETE! WAY TO SAVE CHRISTMAS! (Goes great with our letter P too!) :)

Cyber Monday Plus Tuesday Sale!!!
For years I have spent countless $ on high priced items to supplement my classroom and encourage creativity and life long learning. About a year ago I found this WONDERFUL site and began purchasing many ideas and items here. It is a marketplace for teachers like me to share their knowledge, talents and ideas. The best thing is...we pay each other for the things we need in our classroom (not some big box store!)
This fall I took the leap and decided that I wanted to share the things that were working here at ABC School with others so I joined as a seller.
All of us know teachers. They are our sisters, brothers, friend, neighbors and parents. And most importantly someone our children spend most of their time with. Please join me in celebrating Thanksgiving by letting your teacher friends know about this wonderful site and the abundance resources available to them!
PLUS! I am having a sell this weekend along with other fabulous teachers! All my products will be 20% off plus an additional 10% off. Just use promo code CMT12
http://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Teacher-Andrea
There is also a FABULOUS sale at Teachers Notebook where all proceeds go directly to the Teacher! YAY! Happy Shopping!

We had a blast with this turkey game! The kids didn't even know they were learning and practicing numbers. These centers and more will be found can be found at my store by clicking here..
Mr. Potato Head and Play dough in the Sand and Water Table
Dramatic Play: Medical Center
Our babies were covered with band aids! The next day we changed it up to be a vet clinic.
One highlight of the week was this incredible sign made by one of my students. The group decided they needed a "open/closed" sign. Gavin was up to the challenge. While making it he decided that hospitals don't ever close...Thus the words OLES (always) OPEN! FANTASTIC!

Santa's Beard Christmas Countdown
I LOVE CHRISTMAS! I even LOVE all the glitter that comes through my classroom! I think I am still vacuuming up last years glitter. :)
We've all seen the darling Santa Beard countdown where we place cotton balls on his beard.
My students will be working on this next week so it is ready to go on Dec 1st!
I created this one to engage more students and build skills while having fun!
Students not only learn number recognition, they also practice important fine motor cutting skills!
Advanced learners can even color Santa's beard with patterns!
Check it out here! It will be on sale this weekend along with all my other products in my stores! So be sure to follow this blog and my stores for updated information! There will be some great freebies too!

Thanksgiving Vest Freebie
Hi All!
Can you believe it is already time for Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas?
Where did the time go?
This week in class we had a blast working on our Thanksgiving Feast Costumes for next week.
So many of the students wanted to wear their vest home "Today!" even if the paint was wet! :P
We painted the vests this year for some great large motor development with the brush strokes. We will finish them when they arrive at school Monday by fringe cutting the bottom. This is great for fine motor and cutting skills.
Our Classroom and halls have been FILLED with these darling vests that have been drying ALL week!
We have been tip toeing around them and in some cases (oops!), walking right through them! Gotta love Pre-K! :)
As I have been working on these cute vests, it has been hard not to think back over the years to when my very first Kindergarten class made these and when my own kids did to. I also thought about how much I love my preschool families and all the cuties that have left to move on to the big elementary world. Not to mention all the siblings that will be coming up. Anyway, I wanted them to have a little fun on Thanksgiving too!
Soooooo...drum roll please!
In GREAT THANKSGIVING for all the wonderful children and families that have enriched my life, I am leaving this Freebie for you! It has step by step instructions on how to turn an old brown paper sack into a child's masterpiece. It even has pictures for every step! YAY!
You can downloaded it by clicking HERE which will take you to google docs, or you can get it in my store.
Please enjoy and share share share!
I would recommend using bright markers at home so they can use them right away.
And if you are lucky enough to have a child at ABC School this year...No worries! They will be wearing theirs home on Monday. Don't forget your camera!
Here is a pic of 2012! Looking forward to next week!

More Turkey Trouble
Here is a cute new version of Tom the Turkey with the Terrible Temper.
The original is included as well as my own adapted version for a school setting!
Check it out at MY STORE along with other freebies for thanksgiving. If you like what you see, choose to follow me on Pinterest, teacherspayteachers and this blog! Also click on the +1 sign on this post.
Review Color words, Celebrate Thanksgiving and discuss feelings and emotions with this colorful story about Tom. I DID NOT write this cute story. It is one I have had in my files for years. My students LOVE to hear it every year during the month of November. That being said, I looked online to find the original author and couldn’t find him/her.
I do not take any credit for this story. If you happen to know the original author, please contact me so I can give them credit and thank them!
Also included is my own revised version of this story to fit my classroom. Use which ever one suites your needs and ENJOY!
Laminate Turkeys and create a flip book or have students hold each picture as the story is told.
If you like what you see please comment and let me know how you are using it in your classroom.
I would love for you to visit my store and see my other items.
